To whom gets XCAST6 live CD

• What's it?

It is a bootable CD which includes XCAST6 technology OS/applications for XCAST6 video conference. You can enjoy realtime group communication with this 1CD package, if you have an AT compatible machine with a CD-ROM drive.

• How to use? (detailed instructions is after mentioned)
  1. boot from CD

     BSD kernel, and X window system will be up

     It gets IPv4 and IPv6 addresses automatically with DHCP and RA respectively.

  2. start vic & rat programs from a menu or icons
  3. start a console window, and execute "xcgroup" group management client on it. At first time, try "test-xcast" coterie (group) on xmeet.xcast.jp:

     % xcgroup -b http://xmeet.xcast.jp/cgi-bin/xcgroupsrv.cgi -g test-xcast &

  4. start camera capture program if vic cannot handle it directory
  5. try, "transmit" feature in each programs
